Commission

Commissions may be accepted when time allows and the requested media is generally used by the artist. Most subjects can be rendered in either oils, pastels, graphite or charcoal. Portraits (human and animal) are done from a selection of photographs best portraying the subject’s personality. A written description of the subject’s personality is also helpful.

Any commission is undertaken on the agreement that the finished piece will be in the artist’s natural style. When the piece has been completed it will be photographed and an image sent to you. No corrections can be made because of the technical difficulties involved. In the event that you are not satisfied with the finished work, the deposit will be retained and the piece sold openly to the public. No work will be presented for final payment until the artist is 100% satisfied with the result. A written commission agreement must be signed by you and returned with your reference photographs. A copy of this agreement, signed by the artist, will be sent to you. A final price shall be quoted and 50% of that total shall be required as the deposit. The deposit must be paid through the normal payment system (Paypal).

Please use the general enquiries form to make initial enquiries about a commission. You will be asked to send jpeg images of the subject later. All work is done from actual photos not jpeg images. A commission may be refused if the reference photos are unsuitable: unfocused, too small or damaged.

Famed or unframed?

All works shown are already custom framed unless specifed otherwise in the item description. A jpeg image of the framed work will be sent to you upon request. Frames can not be changed or swapped. Where an antique or vintage frame has been used it will have wear marks specially described. Prices are based on framed work. Shipping framed work is more expensive than unframed work but both require appropriate insurance. If you wish to purchase an item without its existing frame, a quote for the unframed work will be sent to you to consider. A quote for shipping the unframed work will also be supplied upon request. I am happy to discuss all options with you prior to purchase and advise you about the most suitable and cost effective methods of purchasing.
